After discovering that they work at the same company, a gaming crazed otaku and a fujoshi reunite for the first time since middle school. After some post-work drinking sessions they begin dating, but will it be a perfect relationship for the two?
This is one of the series I was looking forward to this spring. A workplace romance is pretty rare in anime. Some part of me was also prepared for it to be a typical romance and over the top. It’s exactly that and at the same time not.
Narumi, our heroine, is a flawed person through and through. She’s hypocritical, doesn’t seem to take her work seriously, and can be rude. I like that she isn’t a blushing mess. I like characters like this provided they get character development and their flaws are acknowledged as such. Hirotaka, our hero, just comes across as a competent jerk right now who has had a crush on Narumi for a while. They fall into this easy friendship even though they haven’t seen each other in a long while and their attempt at dating begins as some sort of business transaction proposed by Hirotaka. The side characters aren’t exactly what I would call interesting but it feels like we would see them a lot.
It’s all good, it’a not overtly funny but it works. There are a few things that are glossed over too quickly and there is this general disconnect. Also, this is a personal peeve, but I really don’t like introductory monologues and it feels even weirder on a grown woman. Regardless, I’m looking forward to finding out how this works out.
It seemed a bit fast paced to me…

It feels like one of those marriage contract ones. They skip several steps but the actual relationship progress is probably slow.
